For years and years, I had always heard about people trying to fulfill their dreams. It occurred to me, awhile ago, that I wasn’t sure if I had dreams of doing anything big. Sure, I wanted to do better in life, but something huge? Or at least something good enough to be considered “big?” I didn’t think I had anything like that in mind. But as time went on, I realized that, someday, I’d like to open my own counseling practice and have my own office. While I have been so grateful to work under the guidance of brilliant psychologists and counselors in Arizona, I realized that my dream would be to have a practice to call my own, here, home in California. To have a place where I could be an instrument of hope and healing to whoever walked through my doors. To be able to create my own setting where therapy would take place. The desire to form Wave After Wave Counseling was born. This has been my big dream, my quest, over the past few years.
And now, this week, I am humbled to say I get to see my dreams become reality. This week, Wave After Wave Counseling will open its doors to its first clients in California, through in-office sessions or telehealth. I am so honored to be in this position of working with people through the tough stuff of life.
How about you? Do you have a dream you’re working toward? Or maybe you’re like I was, not sure if you even have a big dream. Maybe you’re stuck and not sure what to do. Perhaps you’re one of the lucky ones who is actively living out your dream. Keep at it. If you’re not in that last category, it’s ok. Explore your interests, pursue, and work hard. Eventually, you’ll figure things out. Plus, along the way, you’ll have a good journey to share with others. Achieving your dreams will involve a lot of hard work, but the results will surely validate the cost.
